    Miles Sherpa

Chairman – SOS Himalaya Nepal | Mountaineer | Humanitarian Leader Miles Sherpa, also known as Dawa Sherpa, is a respected Nepali mountaineer and the Chairman of SOS Himalaya Nepal, an organisation dedicated to education, health, and humanitarian development across remote Himalayan communities. With a deep passion for the mountains and an even deeper commitment to the people who live among them, Miles has become a leading voice for sustainable progress in the region. As an accomplished climber, Miles has successfully summited Mt. Everest, Mt. Manaslu, and several other major Himalayan peaks, gaining firsthand understanding of both the beauty and the challenges of life in the high mountains. His mountaineering journey fuels his mission: to bring hope, opportunity, and essential support to underserved communities where help is needed the most. Under his leadership, SOS Himalaya Nepal works in close partnership with SOS Himalaya Spain, an international organisation founded in memory of Spanish mountaineer Iñaki Ochoa de Olza. Together, these organisations provide education scholarships, school construction, emergency aid, healthcare support, and community upliftment programs across Nepal’s most remote and vulnerable regions. Miles Sherpa is dedicated to ensuring that the legacy of compassion continues—building schools, supporting children, empowering families, and creating long-term solutions for a stronger, brighter future in the Himalayas.
